I personally would not complain if we went to Concani. It inflects better at least to my ear and eye, including presenting curvilinear possibilities--typographically. But I can do fine with K's too. OK to that.
But as with anything considered a contribution/association with the Oppressor (as Colonials are referred to) perhaps -- retaining Concani was rejected. Yet, things can even be rejected and other forms reintroduced/interjected. More recent oppressors will, believe me pass a bill in the House if they see mileage to it! People in the meanwhile could have a Concani fest, a Concani ball, Concani pickles, call their wives my Concani bauli, Concani bushan, our Concani firngi's, etc. Does Oscar have anything to add NOT to the what I say, but to the contributions from our savants on Goanet. ++++++++++++ venantius j pinto > Message: 4 > Date: Wed, 22 Sep 2010 23:44:23 -0400 > From: Pandu Lampiao <pan...@gmail.com> > Subject: Re: [Goanet] Spelling of Konkani or Konkanni?? > > Just a suggestion ....what do you say, that we should write Romi > Concani with a "c". > > (DEL)
