(letter to editor sent on 18/1/2010 remains unpublished revealing the systematic marketing of opinions to goans by some sections of media) The former GCCI chairperson's recent remarks at the ITM -Goa regarding the need to check influx of migrants into the State is unbelievable. Just a couple of years ago he was jeering at the goan struggles to preserve the identity of Goa's villages. He was cheering mega projects and industry in the villages. Now he suddenly plays a tune on migrant influx. What encouraged hordes of migrants into the State? Now, the Power Minister Aleixo Sequeira has suddenly begun talking about local employment in the industrial estates. Do these guys really mean what they say or, is all this just a soothing balm for goan ears?
