Just a small correction: The People's High school was founded not by J.M. Surlakar, but by his father Manguesh (Lala) Surlakar. Mr. J. M. Surlakar or rather Dr. Surlakar was, towards his retirement, Chairman of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Alto Betim.
