Guys, I am sorry for missing the opportunity to wish Silviano Barbosa on his birthday. Rather than waiting till next year, let me do it belatedly.
Silviano writes, stages tiatrs and even puts together CDs of Konkani music during his all to brief sojourns in Goa. But more than all that, he is a genuinely nice guy... and one of that rare breed of a polite Goan, with whom it is hard to pick up a fight or even disagree! Wish we had more like him around. As for being 61, I thought that with his slim, trim nature he would have been closer to 41. Not that it matters. Silviano obviously gets better with time. One can only hope that his pen keeps up his productivity, he would not be so pessimistic about his novel (which focuses on a rather unusual theme and tradition from Goa that most of us have forgotten), and that we have many more cultural products coming out of his hand, voice and mind!
