-- Samir Umarye BICHOLIM JAN 7: The Bicholim police today arrested 34 persons including 14 women at Navelim Sanquelim from blocking mining traffic.
According to the available information about 34 persons including 14 women and 20 men gathered on the road in the morning at about 8.30 am and demanded that the mining company should give the pending money to the women who are swipping the road. As per report the women did not get money since last three months and enraged at this they threatned to block the traffic. After receiving the information the Bicholim PI, Harish Madkaikar went to the site and urged them to clear the traffic. As the mob failed to listen the police arrested 34 persons under section 143, 314 IPC. Bicholim ASI, A G Gaonkar is further investigating the case.
