Mr. Nelson Britto retired as Judge of the Bombay High Court on Jan 7th but the police security at his Porvorim residence was withdrawn only on 1st Feb. This illegal police security was an unnecessary and uncalled for financial burden on the State Exchequer.
There has to be financial accountability in all expenditure incurred by the State Government. There can be no courtesy shown at public expense. Perks and privileges cease on the day any authority or official retires. The law has to be complied by all with the higher ups leading by example. Guardians of law cannot themselves be breaching it.
