Rajan Narayan's article "reject monster Panaji Bachao"
is what the French, before and after The Revolution, would have said is
"a cri du coeur", a call, a desperate cry from the very heart asking for
a cleanup of the Panaji Corporation.
Long ago Patricia Pinto got elected as an independent on a shoestring
budget.
The article gives instances of citizens of unquestionable integrity,
backed by philanthropist businessmen and well-organised voters can bring
about change.
Instances in Goa itself had been quoted.
In Mumbai where I live experiments of citizen's candidates getting
elected or giving Party monsters a close fight are legion
Do arise up to the occasion. You cannot cross the road unless you
actually crossed the road.
