Blame it all on Goa's handful of 'Pension Fighters' who hand delivered Goa to the charlatan called Nehru, once upon a time.

Isn't it a case of closing the stable when the horse has bolted?

During my recent visit to Goa I found no Goan identity left at all. Even the Goan restaurants have tweaked their menu to suit the palates of purely (non-Goan) Indians. . The lingo is Hindi except for the villages where you hear a reasonable amount of Konkani. The beaches are full of Punjabis, Gujjus etc. bathing in the sea in their swimming dress code i.e. salwar khameez and glaring at all the foreigners wearing bikinis and swimsuits. Music blaring is Indian rock. Most of the shops are run by anybody but Goans.
