Derama is the 10p.c. levied by the Administrator of Comunidades on all the comunidades of Goa. It represents 10 p.c. of the difference between the gross proceeds of the comunidade by way of earnings other than capital gains and gross expenditure. I believe it is a word derived from dez meaning 10 in Portuguese.
