Massive crowd to support the Jan Lokpal Bill and to meet Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi, Swami Agnivesh, Arvind Kejriwal at Azad Maidan, Panaji-Goa.
Sadly, Anna Hazare (73) could not make it due to ill health The meet was to start at 5 but started at 5.30 Initially, the crowd was around 1000 but by 6.15 it was swelled by almost 4 times. And the figure remain steady till the end of the meeting i.e. 7.30pm The three main speakers were Swami Agnivesh, Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi ( with Adv. Satish Sonak). People were listening to each and every word of the speakers till the end. Crowd included young and very old. People seen sitting on the lawns as there were not enough chair to accommodate 4000 old crowd. Chairs were around 600. Arvind Kejriwal explained what the bill is all about and what they are asking for in the bill, with clarifications with referenced to some misconceptions such as RSS pro etc Very interesting, trying to put together in a video clip, please listen to what he has to say. Kiran Bedi was talking about the Media/Press attention/support got in the beginning. Kiran call upon all youth including ladies to take up the noble cause including involving in the community services etc Please also listen to her where she explains how all this started and what support they got initially from the Govt and the press/media. Kiranji said there are about Rs.730000000000000 (73& thirteen zeros) sitting in foreign banks such as Swiss bank and as such India can be as rich as America if there were no such money in the foreign banks. Almost all speakers made a mention of our young Nilesh Gaokar from Caverem who was brutally attacked by some people with Iron rods at Verna, condemning the attack. Including Swami Agnivesh who said they all visited Nilesh at the hospital this morning.
