have rather enjoyed reading Sandesh's views on this vexing MOI issue. And I
totally agree with him on the ending that he has chosen for his piece as it
sums up the entire issue in a perfect manner. MOI is a language of imparting
knowledge to the kids to start their lives on solid foundation. But parents
want to make them parrots minus the wings.
The problem with Goa is that Goa's governance, the education policy
included, is left to butlers and the cooks. To think that an uneducated
punk is Goa's education minister, a goon a Health minister, a veritable drug
dealer the Home Minister speaks volumes about the capacity of Goan
thinking. With Goans in position in educational institutions of repute
nationwide and worldwide, that Goa should have third class education system
which is decaying even at the University level is a shame for Goa and Goans.
The need of the hour is to boot out these cooks, butlers and what have yous
from the education scene in Goa and put in place a laudable system of
education from kinder garten to the University level so that Goa overcomes
this shame.
Indeed, as far as education in Goa is concerned, it is Khorjota eke koden
ani Khorpita dusre koden.
