Having previously resided in Campal for a number of years, I am not convinced
that a stadium thereis a good idea, unless someone can solve the traffic issues
that plague that area and allof Panjim! Then there is the bigger issue of
parking.
Before the Fatorda stadium was completed, it was all chaos whenever there
werefootball games at Campal. One can only imagine the chaos now. The traffic
on thePanjim-Miramar road has increased so much, that one cannot even cross the
road, forfear of being run over. With respect to parking, the residents of
Campal have beenalways in trouble. Whenever any football, cricket game or any
political or religious functiontakes place, all the people come and park their
cars, scooters and bikes on the side roads! And for the residents of these
buildings, it is next to impossible to get their own vehicles out!
Can the Hon. Bharati Heble assure and ensure that the traffic problems of that
area will be solved??What about the construction traffic that will create
headaches for months? What about the water supply and electricity? Does anybody
care for the quality of life of the Campal residents?
