Gallery Gitanjali and Apurva Kulkarni invite you to Chitrangan - a
courtyard that will nurture your creativity leading to artistic
self-discovery as limitless as the sky.
Orchestrated as a series of workshops Chitrangan is a course in the
fundamentals of drawing meant for anyone who aspires to be creative.
Designed for those with little or no drawing experience the course will
include written and verbal instructions, demonstrations by established
artists, slideshows and intensive feedback and analyses of artworks.
Chitrangan's unique methods of instruction will initiate the
participants to create a series of drawing exercises and experiments,
inducing in the process, a certain way of seeing. These initiations will
include an array of exercises: right from the basics of making marks to
the creation of mixed media drawings; from traditional and modernist to
post-modernist and conceptual methods.
In addition, detailed demonstrations by artists as diverse as Norman
Tagore, Praveen Naik , Vasudev Shetye and Wilson D'Souza will be an
inherent part of the course. To be held on weekends spread over a few
months Chitrangan will propel you on a stimulating journey into the
heart of your artistic self..
Conceived by artist and art historian Apurva Kulkarni and assisted by
established younger artists Norman Tagore, Praveen Naik and Vasudev
Shetye, Chitrangan is a revolutionary course supported by Shaistah
Thapar, one of the foremost collectors of art in Goa.
