I was begining to get encouraged to believe that you (later) settler Goans had developed the sense to stay away from divisive terms like Hindu Goans, Katlik Goans, Bamons, Sudras, Gaudis, Tailors, and sub-Harijans (like me). But, it appears that some of us have not gotten out of that intellectually dishonest VideoCD thought process. Some possessors of that thought process might even believe that Katlicks must "swadeshify" themselves if they are to be accepted as Katholics (or some archaic nonsense like that). As the mostest original Goan, I say thus unto ye: As long as you (settler Goans) have not put up a sign or otherwise organised to keep out Kunbis and others out of your convention, you have my permission to call it a "Goan Convention". I am not about to try make sense about the 'whiter than white Selma Cardoso' comment except to say that it is possible that some among us just might have a self-perception issue which presents in this fashion. Personally, I have not known Goa politicians organising the transfer any Goan anywhere far (e.g. Daman or Lakshwadeep Islands) as a punishment (and I am sure Tai will categorically deny that charge...Won't you, Tai?)... I do know however, that a bunch of Goa politicians were attempting to transfer ALL Goans to Maharashtra. But then, that isn't that far away, is it? wrt sum of £ 8500, I am not so sure that I would use the term 'refund' (the original Latin having been noted) but I would certainly recommend future Conventions to do the following: (a) Do NOT accept donations via politicians or their agentes (b) It is better to have a smaller convention or none at all, if local/self funding is not available (c) IF any Govt entity wishes to participate in your convention, charge them a participation fee +/- a display booth fee. In that case, you would not be required to "return" anything....unless you violate the terms of the contract. IOW, there will be less of this trash-talk which follow Goan Conventions which may or may not be selectively "RTIed". And yes, please do NOT patronise my people in Goa by sending poixe from phoren to BUS us to any of your functions in other parts of Goa. If we Kunbis and others cannot afford to travel, we will stay at home and eat our Rice and Fish Curry. The next thing you guys might do is to ask us to refund the Bus Fare and the cost of the Mutton Biryani and Sorro that you might choose to invite us to consume. Frankly speaking, after listening to the hypocritical nonsense you guys spout, Kunbi Zuze would definitely need some Sorro! jc
