Three persons from Goa are invited to attend the ORGANIC WORLD CONGRESS 2011 [http://www.kowc2011.org] in Seoul, Republic of Korea [South] from 28 September to 01 October and to attend the first world General Assembly of the Inter-continental Network of Organic Farmers' Organizations [INOFO of IFOAM www.ifoam.org/inofo]. * Ms. Yogita Mehra, of Chorao Farmers' Club, Joint Secretary of the Botanical Society of Goa and NSC member of OFAI, will present a note on networked marketing and organic movement; * Fr. Inacio Almeida, sfx, the "Father" of Organic Farming at Pilar Natural Farm, Pilar-Tiswadi, and now at Zagoti Natural Farm, Bhirondem-Valpoi, will fill in with organic formulations from EM {Effective Micro-organisms] to Amrutpani and also act as a link to the Spanish and Portuguese speaking delegates from Latin America, who do not speak or write English. * Miguel Braganza, Secretary of PGS Organic Council and Botanical Society of Goa, Joint Secretary of Western Ghats Kokum Foundation and incumbent Convener of INOFO-South Asia & India, will present a paper on organic Kokum wine [developed and refined by Dr. John Carmo Rodrigues, Ph. D in Microbiology, from Chinchinim, with organically grown Kokum from Mr. Shrihari Subrai Naik Kurade at the world's largest Kokum sole crop irrigated plantation in Ambaulim, Sanguem] at the Pre-Conference Seminar on 26 September, 2011, and stay back to attend the General Asembly of IFOAM to elect the World Board 2011-14 from 3 to 5 October along with the OFAI President Me. Sarvdaman Patel. The aim is to elect at least four organic farmers to the ten member World Board of IFOAM to which OFAI is affiliated. A 'motion' [resolution] proposed by OFAI to co-opt a farmer from each of the continents not represented by farmers elected to the WB is also listed for discussion to build pressure to elect farmers to the WB. Goa headquartered OFAI has four nominees to the INOFO meeting, two of them unfortunately have not yet received their visa to enter Korea and efforts are still on to obtain the same today. We hope the Korean Embassy in Delhi will relent and issue the same. Till then enjoy this Youtube presentation on the venue and events and a little of Organic farming. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS_bjxHYikM Mog asundi Miguel -- MORE DETAILS FROM: Miguel A.
