LOK SAMRUDHI YATRA AT CHINCHINIM
It began on 14 Nov. birthday of Nehru,an at Patradevi and winding its way
to Canacona, traversing various constituencies befor closing at Panjim on
22 Nov
It was held at Chinchinim on18.Nov, at 12.p.m ,starting at Dandeavado
junction on NH 17, and ending at ST Sebastian CHAPEL All shades of nearly
3000 plus, supporters ,the highest so far according to the comments of the
reporter. The supporters of different ages including voters from Sao Jose
Areal, enlarged Velim Constituency, tracked one Km ,distance in scotching
sun holding water bottles to quench their thirst The stretch was plastered
with life size cut-outs , posters of National and local leaders and
fluttering Congres flags and people wore colourful Congress scarves. The
crowd was lead by Eng Filipe Neri Rodrigues,Subash Sirodlkar and a host of
Congress functionaries of the party. The disclosed and professed motive was
to celebrate, 50 years of Goa liberation ,honour the memory and
contribution of valiant freedom fighters, remember Nehru for operation
Vijay, Indira Gandhi for the opinion poll, to decide the choice and
identity and Rajiv Gandhi for the state hood The Congress is proud of the
development of health, drinking water supply, electricity and Education
under Congress Stewardship. Congress takes pride in maintaining communal
harmony among other things. Goa is described as the beauty spot on the face
of India. Minister Fillipe responded with gratitude for attendance and
promised to address the needs of the people He made special public
reference of his determination to get the bypass to NH17 and was fully
supported by Subash Shirodkar, the Congress President The affected people
were visibly relieved and all present received the announcement with
thunderous applause
The Action committee will move a resolution at the coming Gram Sabha to
incorporate the bypass in the final RP 2021 The interim report has not
shown the bypass as the there are technical deficiencies on the earlier by
pass incorporated in the RP of ChinchinimVillage The Minister has co
operated in resurvey, now finalised by the Goa Govt and hopefully it will
find place in the final RP2011 by 5.Dec 2011, the last date. Fortunately
the speakers accepted that they were too young at the time of liberation,
opinion poll to be immersed and involved politically
