Just to say a thank you to everyone who showed up at today's Goanet
get-together at the Panjim Residency (former Tourist Hotel), which was
both well-attended and lively. Thanks to Tony de Sa for his idea of
having a lunch-time meeting (instead of a tea-time one, as we usually
do) and for suggesting a more-central Panjim venue. This was perhaps
one of our best-attended meetings ever.
I think everyone met (almost) everyone else, and despite the lack of a
formal agenda we did enjoy getting to meet one another. (My complaint:
I already know almost everyone!)
A special surprise was having Tony Correia-Afonso, one of our very
earliest members (he's been there before me) at the meet. We will miss
the kind, generous and knowledgeable Dan Driscoll if he keeps to his
threat of quitting Goa this year! We did miss some of those who
already left Goa (including Victor Carneiro of the US, Menin Rodrigues
the amazing networker of Karachi and others), but this was in part
made up for by the lesser pressures on everyone with the festivities
now behind us.
If 2010 was a Pakistani Goanetters special, this year it was an
ex-Kenya and Portugal Goanetters meet up! Waiting for the others
