Mr Shantaram Naik M.P., Secretary AICC in a complaint filed before the
Chief Electoral Officer has complained that Shri Manohar Parrikar has
given an interview to a television Chanel near a polling booth, stating
that people are coming in high percentage in order to vote against
Congress Government.
Mr Naik has stated that this canvassing near polling booth violates
sections 126 and 130 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
Since Mr Parrikar has committed cognizable offence, he deserves to be
arrested.
If such offences are taken lightly, the Commission will not be doing
justice to the concept of holding free and fair elections.
