[1] In a recent post I admonished folks for their impatience with Manohar Parrikar and asked that he be given time before rushing to judgement. [2] That was last week. The facts concerning Goa have changed this week, and I have changed my mind. [3] Mopa. He said he wanted Mopa to go ahead should he be voted to power. ..... Mopa is being pushed through at warp speed, whereas the issues of mining, land conversion, construction, and migrant influx don't seem to have received the priority or attention. [4] We already saw how casinos got a sly nod. [5] Is this why we (moi and some friends) were excited about Manohar's return to power? That he would take off from where the criminal Congress syndicate before him had left off? That he would try to out-Digu Digu? [6] I am afraid that we are headed for more of the same. Shame on you, Manohar-bab. And shame on me, for believing in you. My dear Rajanbab, a: IF we are reasonable individuals, we should still afford Mr. Parrikar the time to accomplish what was presented to the voting public by way of the BJP manifesto. b: I doubt ANY non-partisan individual agreed to give him a pass on the unreasonable handling of matters, esp those that were NOT on the manifesto c: To the best of my knowledge, the manifesto does not mention the words MOPA, new airport or Casino d: Did you notice that the manifesto is available in English and in Marathi? The Konkani version is probably on a VideoCD e: Now, I am almost sure that the previously vocal (pro-BJP and anti-Kangress) activists (on Goanet and Facebook) will return to make their present felt. Or will they merely concentrate on Euro 2012 and the Olympics? f: BTW: the words "believe" and "politician" in the same sentence, normally convert the sentence into an 'oxymoron'. g: Curiously, the only hope for Goa is if an anti-BJP party is in power at the centre. jc
