...teeth. That's probably the only piece of adulation not yet written by a gushing, juvenile Indian media about Manohar Parrikar in celebration of his supposed 'simplicity.'
The man hasn't yet done a single thing of note, so it is puzzling that he is being apotheosized as the second coming of the Buddha. Oh wait. He HAS done something of note. He has given his approval to Mopa, a fast-track plan to destroy Goa Indians love to revel in this humbug of 'simplicity.' What makes it risible is that the most corrupt crooks in India have always been outwardly 'simple', wrapping themselves in pure white khadi kurtas. I don't care if Manohar Parrikar wears a 3-piece Saville Row suit or polishes his family jewels in Chanel No. 5 or struts around in custom-designed padukas hewed from an endangered tree in the Amazon forest. (As long as all this is paid with his own coin.) All I care is that he does good by Goa. And based on initial impressions, as we Americans say, not happenin' dude. r
