The Panchayat Elections, 2012 has given MOIRA PANCHAYAT a new face in
Oswald (Osie) Cordeiro as the Sarpanch (elected for the first time in the
Panchayat) with another first timer Ms. Sonia Thakur as the Dy. Sarpanch,
with an old face Sadanand Rahul but of the previous term but last and one
more new face in Suriakant Batlekar. The other Panch members elected and not
in the ruling group are Ex Sarpanch Adv. Raghuvir Bagkar; and two other new
comers who could make the chain of four to rule the Moira Panchayat ,
however much hard they tried.
Whilst congratulating the new managers of the Moira Panchayat, Floriano Lobo
who stands with this team as a motivated citizen of Moira and not as the
Officer bearer of the Goa Su-Raj Party told the new team to keep political
parties at a distance, be neutral and use whatever good the political
parties want and wish for the Village of Moira. That Politics divide people
at the grass-root village level in the Panchayat elections and that they
should not fall prey to these antics even if they be partisan in preference.
He also told them to value and confide in the GRAM SABHA and Gram Sabha
Members for the full satisfaction of the citizens of the Village of MOIRA.
Needless to say that wishful thinking is one thing and how the MOIRA
Panchayat functions in the immediate future is another thing. But we
MOIDEKARS are very optimistic and always so.
