If the NoMoZo is to be effective and successful, there has to be a total ban on motorised vehicles in the area demarcated for the NoMoZo,irrespective of business interests. Businesses will not suffer as those who want to purchase will make the effort anyways. I have seen such pedestrian plazas in Munich, Buenos Aires, Neuchatel and in India in Mall Road in Simla and MG Road in Sikkim and they work fine. It is a question of mindset. In fact pedestrian plazas attract more people as they enjoy a carefree walk without the danger of getting knocked down. It brings down congestion and noise pollution. In some places, these plazas attract street musicians who enliven the place.
