For Manohar Parrikar, pre-election promises seem to have turned into
post-election nightmares. The most grandiose of all the promises was
“zero tolerance” towards corruption. And though Parrikar started off
on the right foot, he is now pushed on to the back foot. The mining
scam has shown him to be on a pendulum, going to and fro on this
issue, which now is a mill stone around his neck.
