Remo Fernandes LIVE in Goa
O, Remo, tusi great ho! Made my day. Thank you Padmashree Remo Fernandes for the show. Brought back memories too.. O Meri Muni, Till I die, Bombay City, Maria Pitache, Huma Huma... Hanv garakode zoran itlo baztalom (high fever) that one could even bake papadum on my forehead :-) but that did not stop me from going to the show at Caranzalem Food Festival. The band ‘Microwave Papadums’ Remo with Mukesh Ghatwal, Pushpashil & Jonathan really rocked I now feel lot better, thermometer reading shows near normal. Also thanks to Goa Tourism, Govt of Goa The crowd was huge, fans were shouting (asking for more) many of them from outside Goa. Was to start at 8.45 but started around 9.20pm (some delays in setting up?) Ended around 10.50pm, another band was to take over, to go on till midnight. It was the last day of the 5 day Food and Cultural festival at the NIWS grounds, Caranzalem, near Dona Paula. I tell you, upto 80% of the gathered crowd came just for Remo as we could see people leaving in large numbers at the only gate of the venue after his show was over. Remo reveals few things (at least, I was not aware of).. First song he wrote when he was 14 and she was 13, the song ‘Till I die’ In 2-3 months times from now, he too will join (people like me) to earn that extra 1 percent of Interest on fixed deposits with Banks. Look at him on stage, he appears to be in his late 30s. He never missed the then popular ‘Sea food Festival’ at Miramar Beach. A pat on this government’s shoulder (more than one occasion). He also said, people often pay big money and give thundering applause not to the band but their CD player, his was a LIVE Band, he said. On his Facebook, Remo posted a sad news, death of his former band member on 8th Feb 2013 Mr. Munna Chari Tabla/Dholak/Bongo Player, he also mentioned that his name inspired him to write the song ‘O Meri Munni’ then. Remo started with the same song today 12.2.2013.
