Shashi Tharoor is a thoughtful man. He has the highest regard for his country.
He believes that no community in India truly has a majority status. There is
within this nation only a vast diversity of lineages and creeds. I share this
view. I believe that the critical divide in
India has always been between the few privileged minorities who hold a
disproportionate amount of wealth and power, and the many underprivileged
minorities who form the majority of its population. Here is a nice recent
article by Tharoor on this theme, namely that
"We are all minorities in India".

Cheers,

Santosh

P.S. BTW, Shashi Tharoor is probably the most hated man in India because he is
hated on both sides of the ideological spectrum. He is hated by hyperbolic
left-wing activists like Arundhati Roy and right-wing Hindu extremists like
Narendra Modi.
