Tim,
You and I understand that infrastructure brings about development. Without new
infrastructure, things only get more difficult. Look at the title of this email
again. Whoever wrote it, seems to be mostly concerned that people will become
rich because of the development. Duh! economic prosperity is the entire reason
for development.

Thankfully, the impetus for the airport is coming from Delhi. They understand
the need for infrastructure. They also understand what is required for
development of a country as big as India and the need for regional hubs.

Tim, you remember a few years ago when the Canadian Govt was cutting back on
its military expenses and decided to close some air force bases? Every
politician protested and fought to keep the air force base in his riding open.
The reason is that these bases are maned with people who have high paying jobs.
There is an entire economy that provides goods and services to the people who
work at these bases. An economy that is high tech and with well paying jobs. An
economy that allows for growth and progress.

Doc,
I have not. The people who live there do not have 24 hour electricity. This is
the year 2013 and most do not even have water 365 days a year. I cannot tell
the residents of Goa how they should live. I can, however, point out that if
every successive govt can get away without providing basic needs like
electricity and clean water then however much the residents yap, they are
missing the whole concept of government and the premise of Mopa.
