Floods at Cuncolim It was sad to hear that during the recent floods at Cuncolim,the hearse van attached to Cuncolim Municipal Council had to used to evacuate the flood victims to a safe location as there was no other assistance available.That's not all,though the JCB's were identified there were no operators available to deal with the emergency w.r.t.to the clearing of the pipes which blocked the flow of water resulting the floods.With such a poor response to deal with the recent floods at Cuncolim,is Goa ready to deal with Uttarakhand like floods which might be the next attack by the Rain God on Goa.The concerned authorities are not even competent to construct a simple culvert and they speak about so called development and the so called development what we witness in Cuncolim is all conversion of water catchment areas.
Today it was just Sanvorcotto at Cuncolim which suffered but shortly it might be entire Goa.I personally feel it was just a trailor,the real movie is yet to be released.We need to change our attitude towards nature.If not, we all will have to pay severely.
