COMMENT: I have no particular interest in the professed religion or atheism of another person. After all, that is a private decision each one makes. I do, however, wish to know the following from FN, if he will consent to advise: a: Why did FN choose to spell the General's surname with a K instead of a C? Is that how the General spelled his own surname? b: Why did FN refer us to the particular Wikipedia site wrt the General's religion? c: Does the wikipedia site refer to his religion or even his religion at birth? The proclaimed 'Nair' bit having been noted. d: Does the site advise us how the General's father got to be named M A Candeth or what his religion was? ps: I was not in Goa when General Candeth was around passing decrees. If FN was back in Goa at the time, he was hardly in a position to comprehend much. Alfred Tavares states that he rubbed shoulders with his kin. Not that it matters but I prefer to accept Alfred chacha's point of view. My question however was related to an allegation that one of his declarations was racist. I have asked for proof. I have been advised that the proof will be e-forwarded to me tomorrow. I am like Thomas. I will believe it when I see it. And when I do ....so will you. BTW: I disagree with Patrice Riemens that the Indian Constitution is racist. However, that is another topic. jc
