The USS Iowa Tour - August 17, 2013 - organized by Andrea D'sylva. Exit Harbor Blvd 2. Take exit 1A towards the 47 Vincent Thomas Bridge – this is also the exit for Harbor Blvd. and the Historic Waterfront. Stay right and do not get on the bridge! 3. Turn right onto Harbor Blvd for 1.3 miles – at that point Harbor Blvd turns into Miner Street. 4. At the intersection of Miner and 22nd street turn RIGHT … no matter what your GPS tells you! 5. Go about 500 feet and the driveway to CRAFTED is on your right, directly before the 22nd Street park. 6. Parking at Crafted Port LA is free and there is a shuttle once an hour to the Battleship. Parking at the Battleship is $1 per hour. Expect to spend about two hours on the tour. The USS Iowa is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are many sets of stairs and ladders which translate into a lot of walking but it will be done at a leisurely pace. Closed-toe flat shoes are highly recommended, strollers are not allowed and the tour is not wheelchair accessible. The only restroom facilities are port-a-potties on the pier. The tour is on the open deck and is cooler than inland temperatures.
