Dear Readers in Goa, As usual I read all the newspapers on line everyday, but today ( 8th Aug) all of a sudden Herald edition could not be read on line without a registration done for Rs.118/- per month. I do not understand why Herald has taken such a drastic decision. Whether the sales have gone down or the standard of the paper is not upto the mark?
I think Parrikar Government should give some doles for Aam Admi and the senior citizens to read the newspapers, as they get a meager pension or no pension. With such a rise of essential commodities, no proper electricity, intermittent potable water supply, no proper garbage collection, parking in the city for 2 and 4 wheelers is impossible in the city where Parrikar himself is Panjim MLA, no chance to get a slot for parking as we have to go round and round to find a place, which makes fuel to consume, thefts, crimes, suicides, rapes is everyday affair, No employment for Goans without bribes. High taxes for housing. Bad roads. etc.etc that has become our fate. These corrupt politicians have minted money at our cost. In future we should carefully study them before electing/voting them in power. In our olden days we had a decent living. Now plenty of outsiders have built huge bungalows in Goa, and lots of high rise buildings have come up for them to reside in the flats. One day they will outbid us. Goans will remain in their own ancestral housing. Stephen Dias D.Paula
