CASINOS NUISANCE AFFECTING PANJIMITES

The letter of J.M.Almeida accusing the Mayor of wrong doings at the
C.C.P in his letter to the Editor dated 24.8.2013 in the GT, is a
classical case of a thief who keeps in shouting thief, thief and
pointing fingers at other and accusing them instead of self indulging
in self introspection and cleaning one self.

The Almeida Guest House, on the D.B. Marg is a classic case of
exploitation of C.C.P’s goodwill or negligence. This Guest House is
just opposite to the river front where Casinos are parked at Mandovi
river. That they are prime cause of haphazard traffic mobility in
Panjim is a well recorded fact. There are scooters, cars parked all
around the Custom House in the heart of city Panjim and the cause of
traffic chaos in the city.

There are no toilets around the new Panjim Jetty and all the clients
of the Delta Corporations, some of who reside in Almeida’s Guest House
find it convenient to urinate around the Custom House and litter
garbage all around the heart of the C.C.P area.

The Mayor of Panjim, should ensure that the Almeida Guest House and
the casinos in the Mandovi river do not encourage their guests from
urinating along public building and haphazardly parking their vehicles
all around choking the vehicular mobility.

Almeida being a “vested interest” benefiting from casinos, the Panjim
Jetty renovation plan and the free parking of vehicles of persons
visiting the casinos and working them too is defending all the
illegalities carried out by the casinos owners as well as the GSIDC
which is involved in Captain of Port Jetty expansion plan designed to
anchor casinos and their feeder boats.

The Mayor of Panjim should:-

1. Monitor the activity of Almeida Guest House the source of
garbage, nuisance their guest apathy responsible for open urination
around the Custom House

2. The Mayor of Panjim should activate the sleepy and lethargic
nuisance squad advised by the High Court, which is sleeping and not
monitoring the nuisance and penalize all those casino as well as
Almeida Guest House occupants, who urinate and litter the heart of the
city with urine stench solid wastes.

3. The Mayor with the help of Traffic Police and Town Police
should inspect those casinos and order the sanitary inspectors of
C.C.P to fine and penalize the defaulters who are responsible for the
decay of the city of Panjim.

I, on my own have initiated against GSIDC in regards to the
unscientific expansion of the Captain of Ports jetty, which would
herald a night marish experience to the residents of Panjim.

I hope, the Mayor works to clean up the mess around Custom House and
also around captain of Port jetty and set an example to others to
follow, thus making Panjim a Model city free of urination and garbage
litter.
