I was hoping that this Sunday would be a relaxed one. But that is not to be. I have to get rid of the over 500 pages of evidence piled up in my office against former Advocate General, Subodh Kantak.
With the discredited Subodh Kantak having last month withdrawn his 15 crore defamation suit against me, filled in 2008, it is now time to clear that mountain of documents unnecessarily occupying space in my small office. Unlike Atmaram Nadkarni’s three floor mega office, mine is a mere 35 sq mt hole where every inch counts. Ironically, by clearing the papers on Subodh Kantak, I may be making room for a catalogued dossier on the illegalities and improprieties of the current Advocate General, Atmaram Nadkarni. Can someone paint me a name plate for the shelves: ‘AG Antics Archives’? After a five year of fierce legal battle with Subodh Kantak, looks like I may soon see another round of fiercer defamation proceedings this time initiated by the current Advocate General, Atmaram Nadkarni. If one was to ask Subodh Kantak about his biggest blunder in life, he would undeniably concede that it was the filing of that defamation case. After claiming to be a legal luminary he was pathetically unable to handle his own case and his trauma was there for all to see. He only got further exposed and rightly opted for the first exit available. I may have been put to great inconvenience for five long years by that litigation, but professionally I enjoyed every bit of that rare opportunity for grilling cross examination of the then Advocate General Subodh Kantak. His desperation was so evident that he virtually took flight. Now, will the Destiny provide me another rare opportunity, that of quizzing the flamboyant Atmaram Nadkarni? From the Walking Street in Pattaya to all the other string of adventures, we may be able to hear it from the horse’s mouth. Stay tuned. All said and done Subodh and Atmaram who are both very thick skinned have a lot more in common as well. Both are bearded and party animals embalmed with a profound coat of arrogance. While one only guzzles scotch, the other would gulp anything and everything, but neither will ever dip into his own pocket to quench the ever persisting thirst. Both of them have recklessly mined the State exchequer as deep as it could get. While, for Goa that is sorrowfully lying in tatters today, one was a disaster and the other is a doom looming ever so large on the horizon. For dear Subodh and Atmaram may I dedicate a few lines from the famous song of Shanai Twain – Ka-ching: All we ever want is more A lot more than we had before So take me to the nearest store Aires Rodrigues T1 - B30, Ribandar Retreat Ribandar - Goa - 403006 Mobile: 9822684372
