Sir,
I went through the grilling formalities of renewing my recently expired
Indian Passport, unused since 1995, having retired from all travelling
engagements as a Marine Shipboard Officer. I paid the Rs.1000/- in addition
to the fees of the AGENT who prepared the documents and got the interview
date fixed. My old passport was returned to me with the CANCELLED STAMP and
was told that I will get my passport in a few days time by post. This was on
06/05/2013 under receipt No.GO10719785822713. Nothing happened until I got a
SMS from the Mapusa Cops to see them the next day regarding my passport.
However, I went to the Mapusa cops and cleared my papers the same day. This
was somewhere in July, 2013. Till date my passport is in limbo and I have
not made any attempts to find out why. The reason being that I want to see
how long it takes to get a passport without running after the Passport
Office for it. My impending family visit abroad is coming up soon and I have
decided to use my newly acquired WORLD PASSPORT to travel to U.S.A - Canada.
This will be the test to authenticate my ' WORLD PASSPORT' in the absence of
my Indian Passport for reasons not attributable to me, for, I am going to
produce all my document, including the old cancelled passport, to any
authority if required by way of justification for using the WORLD PASSPORT.
