Roads named after Goans in Lisbon From: alfredtava...@hotmail.com To: notify-dg-goa-research-...@yahoogroups.com; goa-research-...@yahoogroups.com Subject: RE: [Goa Research Net] Digest Number 2587 Date: Mon, 7 Oct 2013 17:43:05 +0200
Sandra, Theotonio, Have you'll noted the road named after our Goan Poet, Adeodato Barreto, from Loutulim, in Lisbon. I think it is in the Almada suburb, alem da Ponte 'Salazar'. My notion of its exact topographical location is a bit hazy, because when I accompanied his brother, Dr Norberto, & D. Flavia, to honor Adeodato's memory, it was after they had feasted me most opulently & copiously. My neighbour, of whom I have heard great legends, from his legion Lotlicar contemporaries, would have granted me full marks for the mood I was in.... Alfred de Tavares, Stockholm, Sweden. BTW: Dr Agostinho, the opthalmologist, known to sundry Goa, featuring the ubiquituos dois poixe philatelic Estado da India stamp over many years, does have a memorial in Lisbon; as well the Avenida Gama Pinto?
