http://bit.ly/AliceSantiagoFaria Ramachondra Mangesh Adwalpalkar, born in Assonorá, Bardez, Goa, joined the Public Works Department of Goa as a contracted architect on 28th March 1922, for a period of two years even though his contractual status was only formalised a month later... Of his work, we do not have a great deal of evidence but it is known that in January 1923 he held the position of Head of the Building Section from which he resigned in the following year.... The Maternity and Surgical Pavilion of the Central Hospital of Goa, in Pangim, is the only building we can confirm he designed but there are other buildings that may have been his work in the period between 1922 and 1924, such as the Nossa Senhora dos Milagres Hospital, in Mapuça, on which construction began in 1923. It is also known that Adwalpalkar sat on the commission and oversaw the conversion work on the building bought from Misericordia to house the Afonso de Albuquerque High School, in Altinho, as well as the commission that chose the plot for the construction of what would become the Massano de Amorim primary school. It is also known that he carried out inspection of the repair work on the Church of Pérnem.... http://bit.ly/AliceSantiagoFaria
