(GT) VOTERS' SWING: "After Ms Sonia Gandhi's visit, the equations in Goa's crude, ground level realpolitik seem to be changing very fast. (Nandkumar Kamat in Glimpses-NT) CONG, BJP BATTLE IN MAPUSA: A ding dong battle appears to be raging between two top contendersCongress candidate Armindo Braganza and BJP's Francis D'Souzain Mapusa. (H) TRIANGULAR CONTEST IN SIOLIM: Christopher Fonseca, the CPI candidate, seems to be posing a major threat to BJP outgoing MLA Dayanand Mandrekar and NCP's Chandrakant Chodankar. Francis Fernandes, the Congress candidate, has not made his presence felt so far beyond the Siolim village limits. MGP's Pandarinath Pole, independent Dr Jawaharlal Henriques and the Shiv Sena candidate too do not seem to be doing much to enhance their chances of winning. With a smooth-moving volunteer setup and reaching out to almost every household with his eloquent and persuasive ways, Fonseca has improved his chances in the Siolim constituency, one of the most backward in the Bardez taluka.
