"THRILLS ARE MISSING IN GOA'S TOURISM": "Beaches alone cannot hold the tourists for long. The state does not have other facilities for retaining tourists beyond a certain period and tourists have no option but to leave as there are no avenues, which would keep them in holiday mood. We have to create a situation whereby the tourists would feel the need to stay longer in the state. The order of the day is to have better roads, golf courses, theme parks, etc. The government approved the feasibility of having golf courses." (N Suryarayana, in an interview with Abdul Rauf Beig of NT)

REDEFINE GOA'S BOUNDARIES: "Demarcation of the northern boundary shows that the fort of Terakhol is a part of the territory of Goa. There is no valid reason why it could not be exchanged for some area in the southern side. In south, Polem is the last village on the soil of Goa and Mazali was the last village of one time British India. The stretch of land between Polem and Mazali was called as 'no man's land'. It is surprising that the government of free Goa did not raise an objection when Karnataka shifted their check-post closer to Polem and thus extended their borders beyond 'no man's land'". (Chandrakant Keni in Panorama-NT)
