I've just added CompatibilityList support at CheckDependencies,
simulating the old behaviour of Dependencies. I.e.: when a given
package has an installed "compatible program", any version of that
compatible package is accepted.

Another possible behaviour would be to assume that the "compatible
program" needs to have a version respecting the range defined for the
"original program". That would be better for cases like Mesa X
MesaLib, GCC X Libstdc++, but not for Nvidia X Xorg and others.
