I still haven't received a confirmation email from when I created an account at bugs.gobolinux.org. Perhaps because my email service has graylisting enabled? In any case, here are some more bugs.
During installation, when there isn't enough space on the hard drive, the installation program says that it has installed everything successfully, even though it hasn't. This could lead to serious problems (for example, ZSH, Zip, and large parts of Xorg weren't installed) if the user is told to reboot. I imagine that most people just walk away from their computer while installing, and come back when everything is complete, hit the "Ok" button without looking, and then wonder why everything is so broken when they reboot. The installer still continues to only warn, but not block the user from continuing, if passwords do not match. Recommended behavior: the "Next" button is grayed out and unusable until the two passwords match. Furthermore, to alert the user that there is a problem, if both passwords are the same length, the input fields for the passwords should turn red, with a message appearing (preferably below the input fields) that the passwords do not match. GRUB is not properly installed, at least not when running Gobo under VMWare/VMPlayer. See the thread, "014 aesthethics issue" for more details. Additional users are not created; no /Users/<user>, nothing in /System/Settings/shadow, nothing. Note: while creating a regular user, I *did* click on the "Add user" button and confirmed that it appeared in the textfield below. Could have failed because I chose a simple password (login: 'peter', password: 'peter'); even so, there should be some warning. When trying to use "useradd", I get the error message "unknown GID 1000" When using "AddUser", the following error messages occur: useradd: unknown GID 1000 Creating mailbox file: No such file or directory usermod: invalid numeric argument "floppy" Login at the console says "Welcome to GoboLinux 013" /Files/Fonts/Speedo does not exist. (Minor little message in the xorg log file) More bug reports to come... :Peter _______________________________________________ gobolinux-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.gobolinux.org/mailman/listinfo/gobolinux-devel
