Thanks for the tip, Lucas :) If anyone has the same Kernel panic issue at boot, related with acpi, here are the steps:
Tap any key at boot splash screen to interrupt (when you see the GoboLinux 016.01 styled lettering), press tab to edit the command line, add 'acpi=off' and press Enter. Then it boots as intended :) -- Cumprimentos, D.er Hugo Barrocas
