Subject: Bolivian Affair
----

Greetings, Mr President;

my name is Carlos, and I'm from Brazil.

Although I'm not as conservative as a true Republican, I agree with
strenght and determination. Your speech after 9/11 was inspiring for the
entire world.

I'm writing as a friend; as an Ally. Both our countries shed blood,
side-by-side, in name of Freedom. Our 1st Fighter Wing is one of the
only two foreign units to receive a Presidential Unity Citation.

Brazil took the long road to Democracy. You know personally our
President, he may be not a smart man (sorry for the Forrest Gump pun)
but he's no banana republic dictator.

I can't say the same about lesser men, like hugo chavez and evo morales.
Both are spitting on the face of every american and brazilian kid who
died defending democracy. Chavez is openly arming his country AND
feeding regional terrorist forces inside his neighbors. Morales
nationalized the entire bolivian gas/oil industry. Including the largest
bolivian company, a joint-venture with Brazil's Petrobras.

Exxon-Mobil alone has US$3 billion there, now at the sole control of a
Chavez's puppet. Brazil has US$5 billion, plus a US$8 billion pipeline.
I don't know about others but I'm pretty sure other american companies
are involved and suffering heavy losses.

The World Trade Organization's hands are tied. Bolivia is too irrelevant
to suffer for any localized embargo.

Morales stated that gas/oil companies were only the first step, he'll
nationalize mining operations and all other lucrative enterprises.

Please Mr President, don't let it escalate. This is economic terrorism
101, if a nation can't trust another, even after State-grade economic
treaties signed, international trade goes downhill.

I urge you to take some action.  Bolivia can't get away with a clean
face. Even with all the mistakes, Abu-Grab and all, I never heard a
single american soldier saying "this is not your oil anymore". Is it
fair thar Morales behaves like he's better than you and everyone else?

Morales is a mad dog, and the wise way to deal with it is calling the
older and stronger brother, who owns a gun.

That's what I'm doing.
