Grouping does sound like a good idea (but I'm not so sure about the
LA.pm challenge being grouped either :)

Just so things don't get too bad, I'll only have one LA.pm challenge
every two months and the challenge itself will last for one month
(enough time to not interfere with any other challenges).

Back to the grouping idea...
It sounds like a good idea, but personally I like to pop up the hood of
PGAS and do changes that I or any others see fit -- although if the
Community Golf Center provided an individual PGAS system (+ mysql access
for their tables) per tournament/challenge, that would be pretty neat.
(Regardless, I'll be sending some diff's of any useful additions and
patches to the already terrific-PGAS soon :)

I also agree with both of Yanick's comments, keeping everything under
the same roof and having everything in the same database to create stats
on all challenges is cool as well.

And I like the 'opens' idea even more! Maybe just a 'universe open'
because I would hate to have it limited to a specific country :)
