This is a known issue with the Search API. The dev team has made clear that 
they have no intention of fixing it for a number of reasons, the biggest of 
which is that they don't want the API being utilized for SEO applications 
(which, to be frank, is the only reason I can think of that you would have to 
have exactly the same results between the two).
