This has been a known issue with the APIs for a long time. The fact that there 
has been neither action nor word implies that it is is actually a deliberate 
"feature," probably designed to thwart SEO applications and scrapers, etc. In 
fact, the API was designed to provide basic search functionality in websites 
and applications. When used as intended, the difference between the API and 
google.com results is generally not a significant deterrent to its usefulness.
