This has been a SUPER frustrating experience. One day my Google map
app just stops working because 'GIcon is undefined'. This 'map
feature' was a major feature on my site up until two weeks ago when
this error started appearing and the maps were coming up blank. How
it's supposed to function is like this: Put in a search term like
'beauty' or 'childcare' or 'hospitals' in the search bar and it
depicts the locations of those businesses on the map under the colored
'google pins'. The map moves to eacjh location when using the scroll
button

A bit of detective work and I was able to find that AJAX V2 is not
being used any longer. Explains why the page was slow loading until I
'commented it out' from the php code.

Now...where is the new 'functioning' Ajax code generator? The one
that's posted here (http://www.google.com/webelements/#!/maps )
doesn't work. There's no 'preview button' and I can see of no way of
generating any kind of usable code (the <script which pulls up the
defined area). In fact, let me mention that most of the Google' pages
I am seeing lately, including 'Google Translate', are loading with
'Done but with errors on the page". Or one day the 'LISTEN' feature
works, the next day it doesn't work. Will someone please tell me what
is going on with Google??? I just don't expect this degree of shoddy
work from a company of this size.

When I first implemented the google maps feature into my website
months ago, I spent a couple of weeks fine-tuning my php code to
interface with the google/ajax app and I'm not just gonna discard it
(my code). This whole update episode has been sloppy at best. Surely
the folks at Google knew that my site site was using its application.
Suddenly it doesn't function anymore. NO NOTICE. NO NOTIFICATION. NO
WARNING AND NOWHERE TO TURN????

Here's a url for the affected page of my site (the 'search' page):
http://www.elaanslist.com/display/search_results-si.php?category=massage&town=Ang-Mo-Kio

Click the 'view locations' link, the column expands downward. At the
very bottom, you will see where the Google map normally would appear,
now replaced by a red disclaimer.

Will someone please help me find the new code generator to replace
version 2 with.

Thanks!
Mike
