Hi,

I am currently working on a research project for a university thesis
and need to access a search engine through a java application. What my
application does is that after I submit two or three startup objects
the app uses annotation software to find patterns and then try to find
similar objects that are related. The objects include person names,
dob, place of birth. The search is made with parts of the object
missing by trying to use wildcards or omitting some value such as *
dob-place of birth or *-*-place of birth.
I am not planning to use a lot of searches but need to demonstrate
that the program is getting these results.

I am using an adaptation of this
http://code.google.com/p/google-search-java-sdk/
listing and so far am getting 4 results at a time. This is fine up to
now but later I would like to increase this to at least 8 or 10
results per search.
My main concern is that since the api is deprecated (I read somewhere
on this group that it will work up to 2013), will it just stop working
or will Google keep to its word and stop it in 2013?

Also, I tried using the custom search but it is a little confusing to
a newbie like me.

I would appreciate some helpful hints on this subject as I don't want
to submit my application for review by my supervisors and find that
the application does not work! That would be a near disaster! Thanks
beforehand for any tips and info.
