Three things. First, there are code snippets to help you do this in the documentation here:
http://code.google.com/apis/language/translate/v1/using_rest_translate.html#json_examples Second, while we are generally happy to review code and offer tips and fix bugs, it is beyond the scope of this group to actually write the application for you. Use the documentation, and you should be able to figure things out. And third, probably most important, you should be advised that both the Translate API v1 AND v2 have been deprecated and will be discontinued December 1, 2011. Google has announced that they will be replaced with a paid version of the API, but no details of that API have been released. At this point, I would probably suggest AVOIDING the Translate API at least until the new version is announced if you're okay with paying for the service. If you're not okay with paying for the service, you will want to check out alternatives such as the Bing Translator API. Jeremy R.
