An iOS application is just like any other non-web application which utilizes
the RESTful endpoint directly. Check out the JSON Developer's Guide in the
documentation. Please note that the TOS require you to submit a valid
HTTP_REFERER header. This means that you will have to have a webpage somewhere
so you can use the URL in your header. Generally, we recommend a simple webpage
which includes the name of your application, a brief description of what it
does, and contact information for you, the developer. This page does not have
to be a full site; it can even be hosted on one of the countless free hosting
services out there. Once you've set this page up, you can use the page URL to
register for an API key.

You will also want to be mindful of the restrictions regarding payment. Namely,
while you can charge for the development of an application, you cannot charge
end users for ongoing use of the Google service. You will want to make
abundantly clear in your application's documentation, EULA, etc., that users
are paying for the application, not the Google service.

There are other restrictions that apply in the TOS, but since we're not legal
experts and don't really know much about your application, it's impossible for
us to alert you to all of the potential catches. If you have additional
concerns after going through the TOS on your own, you will want to consult a
legal expert of your own.
