The iframe solution was designed to be a quick and easy implementation for developers that weren't really comfortable with JS. Therefore, the number of options available through it is rather limited. In short, I don't believe that you can set the links in the iframe version to open in a new window.
The limit of 8 results is built into the News Search API. This is the most you can retrieve per request. To obtain more, you would need to rework portions of the control's Javascript so that it will fetch additional results in sequence. Unfortunately, the Javascript for the control has been compiled/obfuscated, making it very difficult to alter. If this is truly what you're wanting to do, then you're probably going to be better off to simply build your own control. Jeremy R.
