The Web Search (AJAX) API and Custom Search APIs are the only way to legally access Google search results programmatically without special permission from Google Legal. Although I have heard of a couple of exceptions, these seem to be few and far between. My suggestion for you, particularly if you're searching Wikipedia for copyright violations rather, would be to use the Custom Search API (CSAPI). With the CSAPI, the restrictions on automated searching are more vague than with the Web Search (AJAX) API, but I would still recommend introducing some level of human interaction with your script. Probably the best way to do this would be to have a human enter the particular phrases you want to search for and then initiate the search manually.
In the case of either the Web Search (AJAX) API or the CSAPI, there will be inconsistencies between the results you receive with the API when compared to the results you receive from a standard Google search. There is no real workaround for this. jg On Sun, Dec 9, 2012 at 9:23 AM, Sorawee Porncharoenwase < [email protected]> wrote: > Hello!
